Growing Up Italian

I come from a typical traditional Italian family where the mom cooks non-stop and the dad yells non-stop and hangs out in the basement with his friends. It wasn't easy being ME but then again being me had its advantages at times. I remember my FIRST prom (she was a senior and I was a sophomore)...and how nervous I was to take my date. I took the biggest limo my parents could find and when I got to her house she tripped over uneven bricks on the front walkway and nose planted herself into the ground. She spent prom in the ER and I decided to take a hotter girl anyway (another senior) so it all worked out for me back then Haha. I graduated and went to law school at Harvard before missing my family and deciding to move back to Long Island and attend LIU. I mainly did this because my grandpa was having heart problems at the time and in case he died I wanted to be close. It didn’t matter because he went to prison anyway several times during my life. My father disappeared in 2004 and that took a toll on my life and plans. I decided to shut down for about a year and focus on nothing other then school. I forgot about my family and didn’t speak to many people until around July of 2005. Since then I’ve been focusing on work, my kids and the rest of my life is still history in the making…. 1408834724_l8.jpg 100% Italian 687360812_l.jpg map-of-long-island-big.jpg Holidays and Sundays were crazy. Ma would cook with the aunts while they gossiped about every other lady in New York. Pops and the uncles would argue about sports and business. My siblings, cousins and I would run around crazy beating each other up while the occasional smack on the back of the head came upon us for being too rough with the girls. I remember the year my older brother Anthony and I found a BB gun. We were told not to go near it but curiosity got the best of us. Anthony being the more sneak of the two of us dares me to shoot one of my cousins in the ass. Me being the cunning guy I am, dares my cousin to moon me so I can get a better shot. He didn’t know I would really shoot him so he pulls his pants down and bends over. Just as I am about to pull the trigger, my grandpa runs up and as he is snatching the gun out of my hands, it goes off and my aunt is hit in the back right shoulder blade. Needless to say, I am the one who got in big trouble and got the biggest ass beating of my life! 07 Stay together for the kids.mp3 373066ui.jpg bio, chris, family, friends, holidays, italian, laughter, life, love, past
